Anawangin Cove is a crescent shaped cove with a pristine
white sand beach. What makes the place unique is the unusual riddle of tall
pine trees flourishing round its vicinity. There are no roads leading to
Anawangin. It is only accessible by a 30 minute boat ride from Pundaquit, San
Antonio, Zambales or by a six-hour trek through hot, open trails thru the
Pundaquit range. The cove's relative isolation has kept it free from
development - there are no resorts on this sparkling piece of natural beauty,
save for a few huts and deep wells.

Pinatubo lahar. the other side of Mt. Pinatubo.... The pine trees, (actually Agoho trees) did not
exist in the area before the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. Looks like the ash fall
somehow brought with it Agoho seeds as well and they grew into the forest.One
cannot find a better place to view the beautiful beaches of Pundaquit than the
summit of Mount anawangin, which is the highest point in san antonio. Apart
from the stunning view, Mount anawangin also provides the thrill of a steep
climb. Visitors can also use mountain bikes to conquer the top of the
mountain.A picturesque tropical island with perfect beaches is how one can best
define PUNDAQUIT. Besides the famous beaches in the island- White Beach and there
are many other sightseeing places in island which account for the regular
stream of tourists to the island. Due to clear sea water and teeming aquatic

miles of open beach, or take a short cheap boat trip out to the Capones Islands
where it can get really heavy, or around the corner where there is miles of
great surf. This place is only a half hour from Olongapo, where there is other
fun stuff to do. 20 minutes from Crystal Beach San Narsico as well. So if you come visit Pundakit keep it that way.
The surf big or small is always fun because of the atmosphere. Respect!
Remember a wave is not worth fighting over because there will always be another
one.
